LITTLE ROCK — Clarke Tucker’s work in the Arkansas State Legislature standing up for veterans is on full display in his new campaign ad in the race for Arkansas’s 2nd Congressional District.
“Our veterans fought for us. So in the legislature, I fought for them,” Tucker says.
In the state legislature, Tucker wrote and passed Arkansas House Bill 1910, which matches veterans and the skills they learned in the military with employers in Arkansas. Tucker also supported legislation to exempt military retirement pay from state income taxes. “Those laws attract veterans here, and that’s who we want,” Tucker says.
In the ad, State Rep. Tucker also delivers a harsh rebuke of his opponent, incumbent Congressman French Hill, for voting against services for veterans, supporting a bill which would strip Medicaid coverage from over 400,000 veterans across the country.
“One quarter of Arkansas veterans live paycheck to paycheck, so it’s just wrong that Congressman Hill voted to cut services for our vets,” Tucker says. “They deserve better.”
